With the weather warming up, I am starting to feel excited about the season ahead.
As we approach the season for planting once more, there is nothing quite like the joy of nurturing a small bulb or tuber into a beautiful bloom.

What we’ve been up to
Over the winter, we've been busy planning for the next season.
This year, we’re looking forward to welcoming zinnias to our flower patch. Zinnias dazzled me last summer in Bendigo's Botanical Gardens. Their vibrant show sparked a desire to cultivate these beauties in our flower patch. (Fingers crossed 🤞 this all goes to plan.)

We've dug up all the gladiolas and dahlias. Each year, this job gets bigger as our stock continues to grow. Mum and Dad have been busy cleaning the gladiolas, which turned out to be a big job as we pulled up so many corms this year.

Next, we'll divide the dahlia tubers to prepare them for planting. Then, we'll hopefully have a variety of tubers for sale both online and at local markets. Stay tuned to our social pages for updates.
Each stage is gradual, but it's all progress. I love this most about our work. Unlike many things today, we can't speed up growing fresh flowers. And we like it that way.

Cultivating “Seeds” with our innovative approaches
Due to the small size of our flower farm, we are able to select practices that benefit both the environment and us. Each action we take is aimed at nurturing our precious world.
Central to our business is the commitment to ensure that our operations have a positive impact on the world both presently and in the long term. By growing fresh flowers and offering local deliveries, we are able to make a meaningful contribution.
As we prepare for the upcoming season, we're cultivating the ground. We're adding goodness to help our plants grow into strong, robust blooms. We incorporate nutrient-rich hay once a year to enhance soil structure.
Throughout the season, we utilise drippers to irrigate. Through years of testing, we have concluded that this approach is the most efficient and successful.
Planting "Seeds" in our community
Last season, we planted 'seeds' in our local community that we plan to grow further this season. We enjoyed running workshops, delivering flowers to our customers and florists, and attending markets.

The connections and friendships we've made brings us so much happiness. We love that there's a community of flower lovers around us and that we can contribute to this. Our goal now is to build on this by expanding how we can spread the love, colour, and joy that fresh flowers bring us all.

Personal growth "Seeds"
As we head into our third season, seeing how far we've come is so satisfying.
Through planting 'seeds' we’ve grown a business and have gained so much. We're excited about what lessons our little flower farm will teach us next.
Each year, our goals grow, and our plans for gradual expansion are exciting. But none of this would be happening without our supporters. We thank each one of you for joining us on the journey.
We encourage you to "Grow" with us
This season, we invite you to join us in our quest to discover simple happiness in everyday life. Cultivating flowers brings us joy, and we aim to spark joy in others through our inspiration.
Our tubers will be available during spring; this may be the year you have a go at growing your own exquisite dahlias.
There are so many simple things we can all try to bring simple joy into our daily lives.
To end, I want to share my favourite quote from Audrey Hepburn: 'to plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.' Our actions of today have the potential to grow us a happier tomorrow, and this is empowering. Stay tuned to our socials to watch our 'seeds' bloom into the season of 2024/25.
